Important PSA: Keep your blogs safe
Hello! Mod Rosa here with an important announcement.

Some of you may or may not know but the popular Youtuber, The Amazing Athiest, has made a video about Otherkin and plans to make a followup (most likely with pictures of status’) making fun and harassing the Otherkin belief.

We advise you make your blogs unavailable via search and try stay low until the video is made and posted in order to not have your content in his video which could potentially bring hundreds of thousands of people to your blog with the intent of harassing you for being otherkin.

TL;DR:

Popular Youtuber ‘The Amazing athiest’ is making a video with the intent of harassing and making fun of Otherkin.
He will be using content from Otherkin blogs, most likely without names blacked out.

Upon further inspection, I can confirm that this is a very legitimate worry, and I advise that members keep themselves safe. Please be on the lookout for any suspicious activity here, as well. The administrators on this forum plan to do our best to keep everyone safe. This may mean that account approvals may take longer and Access Pass approvals may take longer. We will also be introducing a new profile field to help keep things more secure, which members may need to fill out in the future when editing their profiles.
